Large Antique Japanese Kutani Porcelain Jar And Cover

A large, fine quality Japanese Meiji period Kutani porcelain jar and cover, of globular form standing on three feet beautifully hand painted with ladies walking amongst the cherry blossoms on one side and people practising calligraphy on the other, the sides decorated with birds and insects amongst flowers with butterfly handles and a chrysanthemum finial. This fabulous piece of Kutani is signed in a seal on the underside and is in excellent condition standing 10 inches tall.
