A Superb Regency Vellum Travel Trunk. Made from wood covered with Vellum which indicates high quality, with superb brass stud work & brass handles. Retaining the original lining, with two straps to secure the lid while open. This Trunk has been fully restored to the original condition. A real gem for any collector. C1820
The word Vellum is derived from the Latin word vitulinum meaning “made from calf”, leading to Old French vélin, “calfskin”. A wonderful example of a period trunk.
This Trunk is in superb condition, it would make a nice addition to any collection or as a side table, night stand in a bedroom or an end of a sofa in a living room. Also useful for decorative purposes as a shop display piece.
