This is a set of six Theresienthal enamelled hock glasses, manufactured in Bavaria, Germany, and dating from the beginning of the 20th century, c1910.
The glasses are in excellent condition for their age. They show minimal age related wear and tear commensurate with use.
The glasses measure 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter across the bowl rims and are 20.5 cm (8.2 inches) in height. The bowls are enamelled and gilded with swags and tails, fern fronds descending from the swags. The bowl rim and foot rim show the remains of gilding. The bowls are ogee in shape and lead to clear, hollow glass stems and conical feet which also measure 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration.
Each glass weighs 130 g. (~ 4 1/2 oz.).
