This is a Georgian, English, Masonic-engraved rummer or goblet dating from the beginning of the 19th century, c1820.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the base.
The glass has a barrel-shaped bowl measuring 8.5 cm. (3.4 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is engraved with a host of Masonic symbols and sits on a capstan stem with a medial annular knop. The base measures 7.8 cm. (3.1 inches) in diameter. The glass is 13.1 cm (5.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It is made from lead metal weighing 265 g. (~ 9 oz.).
