We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Founded in 1793 in Staffordshire, Minton became one of the foremost English ceramic manufacturers of the Victorian era. The pottery was celebrated for technical innovation, developing brilliant turquoise and celeste blue ground glazes that rivalled eighteenth-century French Sevres porcelain.

Victorian decorative vases were typically made from fine bone china or porcelain, fired at high temperatures for durability and translucency. Skilled artisans applied mineral-based enamel pigments for overglaze floral decoration, frequently finished with hand-applied liquid gold or mercury gilding.

Authentic pieces generally feature impressed or printed manufacturer marks on the base, such as the Minton globe motif or framed text. Minton also used a system of year ciphers stamped into the clay body alongside shape numbers to indicate the exact year of manufacture.

A vibrant turquoise porcelain vase acts as a focal colour accent when placed on a neutral mantlepiece, sideboard, or open shelving. Combining high-gloss antique ceramics with muted contemporary textures creates a balanced visual contrast.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or soft brush to prevent dust build-up. Avoid immersing gilt porcelain in water or using abrasive chemical cleaners, as rubbing can permanently remove delicate overglaze enamel painting and gilding.
