A beautiful antique Edwardian Suffragette pendant adorned with a pear-cut peridot dropper (approx. 1ct) and a central oval-cut tourmaline with a deep pink hue (approx. 3ct). The gallery has a fabulous Art Nouveau design with scrolling, foliate motifs decorated with twinkling rose-cut diamonds (approx. 0.34ct total).Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Women�s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase �Give Women Votes!� The pendant is a union of platinum and 18ct gold and is accompanied with a fine platinum chain to display it on.
