A Rare 19thc Ash "Go to Bed"

19th century
Description

Always sought after and considering what they were used for ,rare to find in this condition .

It dates around 1800/20 and is in great condition .the striker at the base is worn. The body is made of ash it measures 7cms h and 4cms d.

The colour and patina are great.

One small old repair to the side of a turning. Virtually unnoticeable .

They were used for lighting with the phosphorus stick being struck on the base and then put in the hole at the top. The centre section used to hold matches .a genuine survivor.
