A Georgian hand coloured copper engraving of a beautiful brindle Greyhound ''Venus''.
She stands in a picturesque rustic setting with her mate laying beside her.
In a very good clean state printed on a wove paper with fine and detailed hand colouring.
Engraved by John Scott (1774–1827) after a work by the famous English animal painter Sawrey Gilpin RA (1733-1807) and published in Georgian London in 1801.

Within a handsome period polished hardwood cassetta frame with vere eglomise.
Both frame and engraving are in first class condition.
There maybe some reflections in the glass, these are not faults.
