Very rare porcelain jug are made in the style of ''capodimonte''. The jug is richly and colorfully decorated on all sides with moulding elements in the form of mythical creatures from Greek mythology: satyr and playing putti. Finely hand painted porcelain ewer depicting mythological figures of a satyr, dolphins, putti, hippocampus, and mermaids, impressed 55 and blue underglaze mark on the base. Hand painted decorated in color and gold. The piece is with putti reliefs, twisted handle with satyr figure and putto as well as three mermaids holding the jug as a shaft. Luxurious elegant jug in the Renaissance style, exquisite shape, rich noble tone, bas-relief. The Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactury was established in 1762 in the town of Volkstedt, Thuringia, Germany. It was founded by Georg Heinrich Macheleid, a porcelain painter from Meissen. Macheleid initially produced porcelain figurines and decorative items in the style of Meissen porcelain. The ownership of the Volkstedt has changed hands several times throughout its history. In 1774, the company was acquired by Johann Friedrich Paulmann. Subsequently, ownership passed to various individuals, including Christian Nonne and Johann Karl Schönefeldt. Swiss-born and yet one of Germany''s finest porcelain maestros, Christian Nonne operated at Volkstedt porcelain manufactory in Rudolstadt, from 1767 until 1797. Under the ownership of Christian Nonne, the Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactury experienced significant growth and expanded its production. The company produced a wide range of porcelain items, including figurines, vases, dinnerware, and decorative objects. Volkstedt porcelain gained a reputation for its high-quality craftsmanship and exquisite designs.
