A very impressive, decorative and wonderfully made 2 Pint sterling silver Victorian Beer jug / Tankard made from over a kilogram of silver. It really does have the wow factor and even more so when held, it is quite a substantial piece of silver.
The lid can be easily detached so it converts into a very proud 2 pint tankard.
It has a vacant cartouche to the front.
It is fully hallmarked to the body and lid Sterling silver, London 1871.
Makers mark of Henry Holland to the body and lid.
It is in an excellent condition being free from any damage, deep scratching or thin spots.
No inscriptions past or present.
The inside is in good order and gilded.
The detachable hinge is perfect working order.
Stands steady and true.
Some light surface wear that can been seen on a close inspection.
