Antique Treen Late 18thc Beech Turned Slickenstone . English C1780-c1800

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

A fine example of an early beech turned slickenstone / smoother, which was used to smooth out creases in linen and pressing cuffs and collars....it is quite unusual to find wooden examples as most were made from glass....it is decorated with fine incised ring decoration, typical of the period and has gained a very good colour from years of careful domestic use.

English. C1780-C1800.
