In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The dresser has its original plate rack with three generous sized shelves. The shelf fronts are inlaid with crossbanding and are flanked by columns with beautifully inlaid panels of Birds Eye maple. The rack has a fully planked back with the original wide pine planks.
It is in very good condition throughout and displays beautifully. It is not without signs of age and use but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. There are a couple of old stains and ink marks on the top surface but nothing detrimental. There are a couple of old repairs including above the right hand drawer but nothing detrimental or untoward. There are no major damages, the drawers open well and the interior of the cupboards and drawers are generally clean and tidy. The dresser has been given a thorough clean and gentle polish and is ready for use.
