Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A French mahogany mantel clock is a compact mechanical timepiece produced in France, encased in polished mahogany timber and designed for placement on a fireplace shelf or tabletop.

Traditional French timepieces commonly feature solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, cast brass bezels and feet, glass crystal face covers, and brass mechanical movements.

Authentic pieces typically feature the maker name printed on the dial face, French movement stamps on the backplate, precision joinery on the case, and period-correct brass fittings.

Position the timepiece centrally on a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard, or bookshelf, pairing it with modern artwork or brass decorative objects to balance historic and contemporary elements.

Keep the movement operating smoothly by having a horologist service and oil the mechanism every three to five years, and keep the wooden case away from direct heat sources to prevent timber warping.
