Probably by the Ersari of Northern Afghanistan.Circa 1890.This small size Ersari torba / mafrash was probably woven as a dowry item and used to decorate the inside of the family yurt. The design is a lattice with large hooked or rams horn devices on a rose madder ground; this design is also found in Turkmen soumak work; mainly by the Yomut. There are yellows and greens also used in the design.Outstanding condition with very slight even wear.
