This antique Japanese Kutani landscape plate is a beautiful and delicate piece of pottery. Made by the Taniguchi company (???), which was active from 1875 until 1954, the plate is decorated with three hand-painted pictures, each framed in a unique frame.

The first depicts a woman with a child in national dress against the background of the famous Fujiama Mountain. The second shows a winter landscape—a river with trees and bushes in snow on the banks. The third depicts a bird surrounded by blooming flowers. The colors are soft and muted, giving the plate a serene and peaceful feeling. The pictures are surrounded by an intricate pattern painted in turquoise-brown color.

This piece is export ware, made for Europe or the USA. The Kutani region of Japan is known for its pottery, which has a long history dating back to the 17th century. This antique Kutani landscape plate is a beautiful example of this traditional art form.
