Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the Edwardian era (19011910), personal smoking accessories grew increasingly popular as symbols of social etiquette. Cheroot cutters were designed as portable mechanical items, often styled with jump rings to be suspended from Albert watch chains alongside pocket watches.

High-grade Edwardian accessories were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, gold, or silver plate. The internal blades were constructed from hardened steel or sterling silver to maintain a functional cutting edge for trimming tobacco ends.

Authentic British silver items from this period carry full hallmark stamps, including a makers mark, town mark (such as Birmingham or London), lion passant for sterling purity, and a date letter corresponding to the Edwardian period.

These small mechanical pieces are frequently repurposed in modern contexts as decorative pendants on silver chains or as charm accents on keyrings. They are also displayed inside glass vitrines alongside historic pocket watches and tobacciana collections.

Clean the silver exterior using a soft microfiber polishing cloth specifically treated for precious metals. Avoid submerging internal mechanical pivots in liquid cleaners to prevent moisture retention and subsequent internal corrosion or oxidisation.
