Good example of the classic camphorwood campaign chest c.1880. In solid camphorwood, a fragrant and pest resistant timber designed to protect the contents during passage, further strengthened with brass bindings and corners. Large original brass name plate beautifully engraved for R. Southby on the lid. Flush fitting handle to the front of the lid, working lock and heavy brass carry handles to the sides. Some old wear and repairs, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
