The box has some exquisite brass fittings, enhancing it's beautiful shape. The front has a large brass escutcheon which houses the working tasseled key. Each side has a typically Regency Lion's head ring handle, complimenting the Lion's paw feet.

The interior is totally original with lidded compartments with all sorts of bits and bobs which came with the box and are included. These include some period Mother of Pearl spools, a thimble, some old needle packs and all sorts of trimmings.

The interior of the lid retains is silk lining printed with a Roman soldier and chariot being pulled by Cockerels.
Excellent condition, measuring 6 1/2" x 5" x 3 3/4".
