John Lynn (fl. 1828-1848) MOORING IN ROUGH SEAS MARITIME WATERCOLOUR PAINTING

Brief Description:

This is a beautiful Original Early 19th Century Regency Period (1832) Seascape Watercolour Painting by the listed British maritime artist:

''John Lynn'' (fl. 1828.1848).

The wonderful and fastidiously executed study portrays a small fishing boat with the skipper and his crew attempting to moor in very choppy seas.

The small coastal fishing village, with its period wooden Windmill, can be seen as a hive with bustling activity.

The work is signed and dated lower right corner ''J. Lynn 1832''.

This marvellous painting was probably a preparatory sketch for one of Lynn''s larger Oil Paintings that he was often commissioned to paint.

Mounted within a later good quality glazed and gilt moulded frame.
