Regent Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It has a striking branch and leaf patterned back which is centred by a cartouche decorated with a boy and a goat, the hinged seat also decorated with mountain goats and floral marquetry within a cartouche, and raised raised on carved shaped legs.
It is a very handsome piece which would look perfect in any study or library.
