Antique Early 19th Century Cherrywood French Side Table / Desk

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Founders Antiques

A charming early 19th century wonderfully original cherrywood french side table which would work well as a writing table. With huge amounts of character, the large plank top sits over a surprisingly sizeable single frieze drawer all raised on attractive cabriole legs.

There is a lovely, very old repair to the tabletop which has been left as is for posterity. Branded on three sides with what looks like a reversed B, this was most likely applied by an early owner of the table.

Very good condition, structurally all in good order with some exceptional aged surface wear and evidence of old long gone woodworm (particularly to the feet) as is normally the case with French furniture of this age.

French, early 19th century.

H: 73 W: 98 D: 69.5 cm

Height to underside of table: 53 cm
