Yew and Elm Bulls Eye Child,s High Chair

19th century
Description

A rarity .a superb perfect 19thc yew wood and elm "bulls eye" child s windsor chair.

Dating from around 1840 and originating from either lancashire or yorkshire this chair is possibly unique .it has a double bull eye which doesnt appear in any of the reference books I have.(b.cotton regional chairs) also it has the rarer crinoline stretcher ,(bowed)

Historians state these stretchers were made to accommodate the long skirts of the day.7

It measures 95cms h 37cms w 35cms deep

As stated it is a super colour and patina. No repairs or restorations. The foot rest is adjustable
