A fantastic Victorian antique silver and agate jewellery box. Made in Edinburgh in 1883 by James Aitchison and it is fully hallmarked on the side. The interior has been relined with red velvet and has ring holders underneath the keyboard as well as spaces for bangles and necklaces under the lid. There are 30 hand cut agates of various types and shapes, each one is in perfect condition. Both lids close tightly and overall it is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. A stunning piece of Scottish craftsmanship.
