I couldn''t resist this beautiful 17thc oak hand carved ''applique'' of a cherub''s head complete with decorative ruff....I particularly like the continental style border of chip and notch carving down each side....it has most probably come from an early piece of furniture or a panelled room....it has gained a really attractive natural colour over the years and is in very nice condition.
Flemish. C1660-80.
