In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1940s.
They are both in very good condition. There are some minor signs of age and use and a few faint surface marks but nothing detrimental. They have been lightly cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
The box is good quality with a silk lining and fitted velvet base. The retailer’s name “James Carr, Gold & Silversmith, Aberdeen" is printed under the lid. The interior is clean and tidy.
