A beautiful pair of framed species copper engravings by Moses Griffith.
Titled ‘Smaller Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo’ and ‘Paradise Parrot’.
Good clean impressions on wove paper with bright and vibrant hand colouring housed within good period Hogarth frames.
Griffith was a Welsh draughtsman, engraver & watercolorist (1747-1819).
These handsome parrot engravings were published in Regency London in 1811 by George Kearsley for ‘General Zoology or Systematic Natural History’ by botanist-zoologist George Shaw (1751-1813).
