19th C Miniature Hanau Silver Brandy Warmer, Import Marks for London 1895

Description

This exquisite silver miniature of a brandy warmer bears a full set of London import marks including the marks of David Bridge, who specialised in the import of continental silver pieces. The cylindrical tapered body embossed with a putto amongst pastoral scenes, the side with turned bone handle. A lovely addition to a collection of Continental silver miniatures. The underside fully hallmarked with Hanau silver marks, the top with a full set of English import marks.

Hallmarks:

D.B for David Bridge.

Lion Passant.

London Assay Mark.

London import mark.

Date letter "U" for 1895.

Dimensions:

Height: 3.5cm / 1.4 inches.

Diameter of base: 2.2cm / 1 inch.

Condition:

Excellent.
