Victorian Silver & Sliced-cut Green Glass Scent Bottle by Charles May, Birmingham, C.1890

Description

This is a charming and unusual Victorian silver mounted cut glass scent bottle. The fan-shaped graduated green glass body with hobnail-cut shoulders and sliced-cut patterns. The neck mounted with a fully hallmarked silver collar and the original sliced-cut green glass stopper.

Hallmarks:

CM for Charles May.

Dale letter erased.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Condition:

Good.

Glass in good condition, one or two minor nibs.

No chips or cracks.

Silver collar in good condition, with some rubbing to the hallmarks.

Dimensions:

Height: 7.5cm / 3 inches.

Width: 5.5cm / 2.1 inches.

Depth: 3cm / 1.2 inches.
