Here''s a first for me....this is a fine example of an 18thc gentleman''s leather clad cudgel....these collectable weapons were used for self defence and sometimes for attacking opponents....gamekeepers would use them in defence against poachers and there were also competitions known as cudgelling matches.....in very good condition with a fine patina to the leather.
