A beautifully made late 18thc butchers steel, with piquet decorated bone handle, dated Oct 29th - 1800 - R. Nichols.....it has an attractive shaped handle mount and has gained a very good natural colour....the handle has a ''historic'' filled crack , which you would expect from a domestic item of this great age...and only adds to the authenticity of this piece.
English. C1770-C1800.
