Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An aneroid wall barometer is a scientific instrument designed to measure atmospheric pressure without the use of liquid mercury. Invented in the nineteenth century, it utilizes a small, evacuated metallic capsule that expands or contracts with changes in air pressure, driving a dial pointer.

These instruments were typically constructed using solid hardwoods such as oak, walnut, or mahogany, hand-carved with ornamental borders. The internal mechanism features a brass movement, steel springs, and a glazed face with hand-painted or printed weather calibrations.

Authentic pieces feature heavy cast brass bezels, thick bevelled glass, hand-carved timber casing with natural age patina, and detailed typography on ceramic, enamelled, or paper dials. Many nineteenth-century examples also feature open centres displaying the brass mechanism.

A wall-mounted barometer works well integrated into a gallery wall alongside framed botanical prints or architectural drawings. Alternatively, hang the item independently in a hallway, library nook, or above a compact writing desk to create a focal point.

Dust the timber surround regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally to nourish the wood. Clean the glass face with a lint-free cloth, avoiding harsh liquid cleaners that could seep behind the bezel or damage the brass finish.
