A Fabulous 18th Century Newcastle Silver Table Spoon

A fabulous silver serving or tablespoon from the sought after Newcastle Assay Office. This superb example is in Old English pattern and has 'P' engraved in script to the front top of the shank. This handsome piece is in near mint condition with wonderful , clear hallmarks and is a great collector's item. Early silver tableware is always in demand and becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly 18th Century examples from Provincial Assay Offices. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. The bowl tip is excellent.

Hallmarks :- Clear, well struck and readable. This particular Maker's mark only used for two years.

Maker :- John Langlands I and John Robertson I.

Date :- Newcastle 1778.

Length :- 22.5 cms.

Bowl width :- 4.4 cms.

Bowl depth :- 8 cms.
