Art Deco French Spelter Dog Sculpture C1930

An Art Deco French model in spelter of a German Shepherd, Alsatian or similar breed of dog, on a marble base c1930. Finely modelled in spelter, a more economic and supple material than bronze, very popular in France, the dog sits on a beautiful marble base, with panels of contrasting marbles at the front. The finish is bronzed, and the dog wears a slim collar as can be seen on the back of his neck. In excellent condition.
