Ravenscroft Law English Barrister's Wig & Large Tole Tin.

This quality Barrister''s wig which is manufactured by top London wig maker Ravenscroft Law dates from the late 19th century, is made of woven horsehair, marked with the maker''s label of Patentee. Ravenscroft Law, Lincolns Inn Fields and also with the name tag in the original owner''s name.
 
This antique wig which comes complete with it''s large size black and gold toleware Ravenscroft tin which has a brass carrying handle and is sign written to the front with the owner''s name of W A Williams Esq reads the same as to the inside of the wig. Also marked to the inside with Ravenscroft Law. Wig & Robe Makers. Lincolns Inn. London.
 
This wig sits in its original wig riser stand which fits nicely inside and lifts out.
 
A very nice original late Victorian piece that also includes the pair of antique white cotton gloves.

Dimensions of tin: Length: 24 cm (9 1/2''). Width: 22 cm (8 1/2''). Height: 24 cm (9 1/2'').

Condition: Excellent antique condition with only light signs of use in keeping with age. Some staining and a few loose hairs. Tin has some scratches and dents.
