Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne furniture is characterised by refined proportions, gentle curves, and the widespread use of cabriole legs ending in pad or claw-and-ball feet. Popularised in the early eighteenth century, pieces typically feature subtle decorative carved elements such as scallop shells rather than heavy ornamentation.

Stools of this design were primarily constructed from solid walnut or walnut veneers over a hardwood frame. Construction relies on traditional mortise and tenon joinery, with hand-carved details applied to the knee of the cabriole legs.

Authentic period pieces display signs of hand-carving with slight asymmetry, hand-cut joinery, and natural oxidisation on untouched timber underside surfaces. Later nineteenth-century or reproduction versions often exhibit machine-cut precision and uniform wood grain.

A Queen Anne footstool can serve as an accent piece in modern schemes, providing contrasting texture when paired with contemporary upholstery. It functions effectively at the foot of a bed, beside a fireplace hearth, or beneath a dressing console.

Timber elements require periodic dusting with a soft cloth and conditioning with natural beeswax to protect the original patina. Fabric seats should be vacuumed gently using a brush attachment and kept out of direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
