It is decorated with a transfer print of two dogs, the letter P and the title ‘PUG THE PAGE CARRIES AN INVITATION TO MR. FOXHOUND OF KENNEL COURT’.

Victorian nurseryware was mass-produced in Britain throughout the nineteenth century specifically for children. These small ceramic mugs, plates, and bowls were printed with moral tales, nursery rhymes, or alphabet letters to educate and entertain young children during mealtimes.
