Robert Morden was an English cartographer and printseller active in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. His county maps were featured in Edmund Gibsons edition of Camdens Britannia, incorporating updated road routes based on John Ogilbys surveys along with distinctive ornamental cartouches.

Maps from this era were printed from engraved copper plates onto handmade linen rag paper using oil-based ink. These impressions were created using a rolling press, leaving a distinct indented plate mark around the printed border.
