The watch has a 15 jewel stem-winding movement, Marquis grade, which is working nicely. This is a high grade gilt movement with screw set jewels in gold fittings and Breguet hairspring. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 21,216,451 which dates it back to around 1917. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding crown and stem. The case is silver and is hallmarked for Birmingham 1919 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, supplier of cases to Waltham UK. The case is in good condition, just general light surface marks, nothing serious at all. The front cover has a small central lens surrounded by blue enamel filled numerals (there is some enamel loss).

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside, there is a glass lens which is in good condition.

The signed dial has blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed. There is a short very faint hairline on number 8 but it is only visible through a magnifying loupe.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
