Bennett suggests that whilst the Gendje region is the most likely origin, it is possible that the rugs could be from the Karabagh region, due to design elements that are related to Chelaberd ''eagle'' kayak rugs.The example offered here has three vertical rows of seven linked octogens, on a dark indigo blue ground. The border design is also associated with rugs from Gendje. This is a striking large size furnishing rug, that will make a statement wherever it is used.
