Monumental Late 19th Century Copper Saucepan - Leon Jaeggi And Sons / Claridges Provenance
£460 $603 €550
Monumental late 19th century copper saucepan with makers mark for Leon Jaeggi and sons.
Leon Jaeggi &Sons, originally from Switzerland, cookware manufacturer in London from 1919 until 1980s with shop sites in Dean Street, Tottenham Court Road and Shaftsbury Avenue.
From my personal collection and purchased on Portobello Road many years ago when a stall holder was selling copper equipment as a result of a refit of the kitchens of Claridges Hotel.
A very impressive display item for a grand kitchen. You may wish to have it re tinned to use, however due to its size it is difficult to imagine it in use in a standard kitchen. IT is very heavy and difficult to lift even empty.
