Long Oak Dresser Base C.1800

19th century
Description

Early 19th.c. oak and mahogany crossbanded open dresser base c.1800. 81" long, a little longer than many we see. Solid oak top, note the broad single piece main board, with mahogany crossbanded inlay to the front and sides and an applied moulded edge. Over three drawers with mahogany crossbanded drawer fronts with period replacement brass handles and original escutcheons. Straight apron with a crisp edge moulding. Raised on tapering square styles front and rear. Oak sides and back board. Old marks and wear to the top and repairs along the back edge. Generally excellent colour and condition, restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
