Puckerings has dated this piece to the 18th Century.

This exquisite box, rarely seen is made from Mahogany with large panels of Burr Elm with marquetry inlay created from boxwood and ebony.
The top has a large brass carrying handle, complimenting the typically Georgian grand polished brass escutcheon which houses the working tasselled key.

Once opened, the interior reveals the three compartments again made from Mahogany and Burr Elm and trimmed in Boxwood. Each tray is topped with a turned Ivory knob. Behind these compartments is a teaspoon tray, always lovely to see.
Excellent condition measuring 9 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 5 3/4" tall.
