Grand Pair Tall Antique English Three Light Candelabra C.1890

Description

A very grand pair of three light candelabra made from silver on copper and dating to the late Victorian era, c.1890.

The central light has a removable flame which of course is used as a snuffer when wanting to extinguish the lit candles. This top branch comes off and the bases can be used as single candlesticks.

I acquired these this week and at the same time found a matching pair of shorter candelabra in exactly the same design, signed by the highly sought-after English silversmith, Mappin & Webb. These two sets together give the most wonderful show on a grand scale (see item # 32999 for this pair - I have also included a photo of all four together).

Excellent condition with the base measuring 5 1/4", standing 15 1/2" to top of central flame and the width spanning 13 1/2".
