Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery from the 1920s is characterised by geometric structure, linear patterns, and crisp symmetry. Fine pieces from this era frequently combined high-carat gemstones with platinum mountings, openwork filigree, and accent diamonds.

High-end 1920s brooches were predominantly crafted in platinum to allow for delicate, strong settings. Common construction details included millegrain borders, pierced openwork galleries, and step-cut primary gemstones paired with round brilliant or single-cut accent diamonds.

Authentic Art Deco pieces typically show era-appropriate hallmarks, hand-finished millegrain edges, geometric gemstone cuts, and fine platinum craftsmanship. Inspection of the reverse setting reveals intricate structural work and period attachment mechanisms such as dual-purpose pin and pendant fittings.

In a modern interior, fine antique jewellery can be incorporated into a dressing room or vanity space by displaying it within a velvet-lined glass shadow box. Staging the piece atop a marble tray alongside period accessories creates an elegant decorative vignette.

Clean aquamarine and platinum jewellery using warm water, gentle liquid soap, and a soft brush, avoiding chemical cleaners or steam treatments. Store the item individually in a fabric-lined box to protect the platinum finish and prevent harder gemstones from causing scratches.
