An unusual Spode coffee can of tapered bucket shape with fluted walls, shaped rim and ear shaped handle. Simple gilt decoration to the outside and handle and the inside with a stylised floral border with gilt leaves and bright pink and blue flowers. Marked SPODE in red enamel. Very much in the c.1796-1800 style of Chamberlain''s et al, but the mark would date it to c.1815-1825 so possibly a replacement piece for another service.
It measures 6.3cm (2 1/2'') high and 6.6cm (2 5/8'') rim to rim.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minimal handling wear; just very fractional on the high points of the rim.
