A Georgian period Gloucestershire longcase clock. A slim oak case with a swan neck hood pediment and brass patterae. An original brass finial and Corinthian capped brass hood column capitals. A well proportioned slim case standing on the original feet with a raised plinth panel. A very attractive arched painted dial with floral corners and a seconds dials with blued steel hands. A rarer 'See-Saw' moving automaton to the arch scene. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell. The Warner family of clockmakers are recorded in Dowlers 'Gloucestershire Clockmakers and Watchmakers' book. John (father) was born in 1647 and the family continued until the 1800's. Late 18th Century.
