An Extremely Rare Georgian Silver Double Action Snuff Box

A superb and rare item of George III silver. This is a double action silver snuff box with a fully gilded interior. The body is rectangular with a tactile curve to fit the pocket and the lid has a concealed hinges. The top is beautifully engraved with foliar and floral patterns to the lid and a central cartouche with the engraved initials 'GG'. The sides and base are also engraved in detailed dot and stipple patterns. There is a lip to access the top compartment and a second lip to give reverse action for the second. A wonderful and interesting example, 216 years old. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Very good, with no holes or splits. There is a small dimple to one side and a tiny area of flattening on the rear corner, all commensurate with age and use.
