A gorgeous small silver mounted caster dating from the end of the 18th Century. This attractive piece has a cut glass body cut with hobnails, slice and step cutting. There is a polished pontil mark to the base. The hallmarked silver lid is mounted on a matching silver collar. An attractive and useful piece, suitable for caster sugar or ground pepper. Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits to the silver and no chips or cracks to the glass. There are a few tiny fleabites here and there, commensurate with age and use.
Hallmarks :- Clear and readable, with some distortion to the Maker''s mark.
