This is a super antique Georgian hallmarked sterling silver snuff box measuring 3 1/4'' (8 cms) x 2'' (5 cms) x 1'' (2.5 cms) high.
It opens and closes perfectly with a good strong hinge and the interior is in good condition with the original gilding inside.
It weighs 135.2 grams / 4.3 troy oz and is hallmarked for London 1826 with the silversmiths mark for Charles Rawlings.
Inside the lid is engraved with the inscription
''Presented to Mr. T.B.CHAPPELL, By the Members of The Social Whist Club, AS A TOKEN OF THEIR ESTEEM 1826''
