The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The outside of the cup has stylised floral devices in gilt with yellow enamel centres and the handle detail and outer rims also picked out in gilt. The cup marked SPODE and pattern number 4436 in red and the saucer with the pattern number and an impressed cross mark.

The cup measures 5cm (2") high to the rim (6.3cm (2 /12")) to the handle and 9.5cm (3 3/4") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14.9cm (5 7/8") wide.
In very good condition: the saucer has a star crack in the glaze but no porcelain damage. It rings perfectly and there are no issues with the cup and no repairs or restoration to either. Very minor handling wear, just a little rubbing to the gilt on the raised rib in the centre of the saucer and to the sides of the handle.
